FCPS Spring Break and spring student holidays are fast approaching! If you are planning to stay in town, MPA has some excellent art offerings to keep your kids busy and creative during the day:

1. New! Artistic Engineering | On Student Holiday, Friday April 22

This one-day workshop is a fun introduction to architectural forms and exploring spatial problem solving skills. We will focus on creating and building structures that test and teach some of the basic principles of architecture and engineering. who can build the tallest tower? Who can make the strongest bridge? Which structure stands the longest without crashing down? You will want to show and teach your friends and family what you learn in this class! All supplies provided. Instructor: Jessica Granda Bonness

8-10 years

1 lesson @ 3 hrs, $60/50 MCC district residents

2. Transform Your Room: Design Basics | During FCPS Spring Break

Whether your style is eclectic, preppy, or anywhere in between, join us for a one-day workshop on how to turn your space into a true reflection of your personal style. We will talk about color, accessories, scale (finding furniture that is the right size for your space), and learn how to measure and draw our spaces. The workshop’s final product will be creating a mood board of how you want your room to look and feel. Please bring any materials that inspire you that you may want to include on your mood board (for example: sports memorabilia, magazine clippings, etc.) Instructor: Jessica Granda Bonness

Grades 7-10

1 lesson @ 4 hrs, $75/$65 MCC district residents

3. Spring Break Art Camp with Abrakadoodle | Monday – Friday, March 21 – 25

Please send snack and drink with your children each day. (No NUTS please ). Your child must be fully potty trained and able to handle bathroom breaks independently.

Life is a Stage Puppet Camp

Learn how to draw, design, build and sculpt a variety of different puppets. Be your own stage director while designing you very own puppet theatre. Bring out your looney side and put on a show with unique puppet characters created by YOU!

3-6 years

5 lessons @ 3-hrs, $170/$160 McLean district residents.

Materials fee: $30, make check payable to Abrakadoodle. Fee is due the first day of class to the instructor.
