  A Blast from our Past

ArtReach, MPA's phenomenally successful art education program got its start back in the 1960s when the Emerson Gallery (later known as McLeanProject for the Arts) brought school children into the gallery to learn about contemporary art, went into schools to hold workshops and created artist-in-residence programs for local schools.
Today, reaching more than 3000 elementary, middle and high school students each year, MPA ArtReach has become the Northern Virginia area's preeminate art program for school children.
