SECOND ANNUAL MPAARTFEST SET FOR OCTOBER 5
McLean Central Park to Be Transformed into Art Gallery;
Fun and Free Activities for Adults and Children

McLean, Va. (09/18/2008)—

The second annual McLean Project for the ArtsMPAartfest is set for Sunday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at McLean Central Park in McLean, Va.
Forty juried artists and fine craftsmen from the D.C. area and the mid-Atlantic region will showcase
and sell their works at MPAartfest, turning McLean Central Park into a lively landscape of minigalleries.
This highly anticipated community event will be held rain or shine and is free of charge.
Here are the specifics for the MPAartfest:

Who: • McLean Project for the Arts
• 40 local and regional artists plus local entertainers, restaurateurs, business
owners and nonprofit organization representatives will participate in or help stage
the event. A complete list of juried artists is available at www.mpaart.org by

• More than 3,500 local arts enthusiasts are expected to attend.

What: The second annual MPAartfest is a juried art show featuring the works of 40
regional artists, live entertainment, food and refreshments from local restaurants
as well as fun activities for the kids, including a Children’s ArtWalk and Children’s
ArtTent. Attendees can purchase paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures,
photographs, jewelry and other fine crafts at prices that will fit any art lover’s
budget. Artists will keep 100 percent of the proceeds from the sales of their
works.

When: Sunday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: McLean Central Park (located at the intersection of Old Dominion Drive and
Dolley Madison Boulevard in McLean, Va.). In case of inclement weather
MPAartfest will be held inside the McLean Community Center (1234 Ingleside
Avenue), adjacent to the park. Convenient satellite parking will be available at
Cardinal Bank located at the intersection of Dolley Madison Boulevard (Rte.123)
and Beverly Road with free and frequent shuttle service.

Why: As part of its mission, McLean Project for the Arts is dedicated to bringing arts
and community together and to raising awareness about contemporary art.
MPAartfest is an interactive and fun venue to educate the Northern Virginia
community about contemporary art.

McLean Project for the Arts is a non-profit visual arts center founded in 1962 to exhibit the work of emerging and established regional artists.
