(April 29, 2008)—McLean Project for the Arts (MPA) has received $5,000 from the McLean Citizens Foundation (MCF) to support and sponsor the Children’s ArtWalk at the 2008 MPAartfest this fall. The Children’s ArtWalk will be one of the many highlights of the second annual MPAartfest set for Sunday, October 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at McLean Central Park. The park is located at 1234 Ingleside Avenue in McLean, Va. MPA expects more than 40 juried artists and fine craftsmen from throughout the mid-Atlantic region to participate and attendance to be greater than the 3,500 Northern Virginia residents who attended last year. Hundreds of unique creations will line the walkway from Dolley Madison Library to McLean Central Park creating a visually fitting entryway to the 2008 MPAartfest. “McLean Citizens Foundation is a strong supporter of McLean schools and parent-teacher associations, helping to fund projects that enhance the environment for learning,” said Patricia Butler, MCF president. “Sponsoring the MPAartfest Children’s ArtWalk this year will round out our history of support for McLean students and give MCF a direct role in this great community-wide day of expression and creativity.” MPAartfest Chair Bari Levingston said: “McLean Project for the Arts is grateful to the McLean Citizens Foundation for its support of the 2008 MPAartfest and Children’s ArtWalk. We encourage other local companies and organizations to follow McLean Citizens Foundation’s lead by participating in this community event for art lovers of all ages.” MPAartfest is seeking corporate sponsors for the 2008 event.
