FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE MCLEAN PROJECT FOR THE ARTS ANNOUNCES THE ELECTION OF NEW BOARD OFFICERS AND MEMBERS McLean, Va. (FEBRUARY 13, 2008) "McLean Project for the Arts has been an energetic hub for the visual arts in the McLean community as well as the Washington metro region for almost 50 years", says Ms. Bissell. "Look for this dynamic board and growing powerhouse of volunteers to have lots to say in 2008. As board chair, I will help MPA continue to connect art and community through our many offerings such as MPA artfest in McLean Central Park, studio art classes taught by faculty from the Corcoran School of Art + Design, more than 15 exhibitions in 3 galleries annually, artists lectures and family art programs." Other new board members are Julie Gerstel, Devereux Socas, Robin Walker, Jack Wilbern. Nancy Perry, Executive Director of MPA says, "Our talented board members truly believe in MPA's mission to exhibit the works of established and emerging artists in the mid-Atlantic region; to promote public awareness and understanding of the concepts of contemporary art and to offer instruction and education in the visual arts."
